Flying Phoenixes Tray

The Flying Phoenix Tray is a remarkable showcase of both technical skill and creative vision. The Phoenixes have been sculpted into beautiful bird handles, uniquely designed in color and shape, giving a great deal of individuality to the piece.

This glass-art piece was created specifically for a juried gallery art show.

I was motivated by M.C. Escher's designs when I created the center pattern of the tray with a combination of interlocking individually cut and fused Glass birds.
